Renewable Energy Solutions
Why a project about renewable energy solutions?
Renewable energy sources are ones which, when used, are not compromised for future generations. What’s more, renewable energy sources are usually the ones which pollute the least and have a low greenhouse effect, they are also the sources which are most justly distributed amongst states and national territories (e.g. solar energy, hydroelectricity, biomass).
In recent years great progress has been made in the development and the diffusion of technologies and processes connected to renewable energy sources, with significant differences between various member states as regards technological solutions but above all in the perception of the “energy” theme and of how renewable sources can be a solution to the problems of pollution and global warming and to the growing energy demand.
What is it RES project?
“Renewable Energy Solutions” is a partnership among Italy Turkey Italia Germany Portugal Nederland that aims to analyse the concept of sustainable development and the new approach for energy production and consumption in Europe.
Impact and European added value
The various applications of renewable energy systems are a great possibility for Europe, in liberating itself from fossil fuel sources, especially petroleum, investing in research and the installation of renewable energy systems especially those of medium and small dimensions.
Spreading small centres throughout the territory (financed by small and medium enterprises or by individual families) this would lead to the creation of energy for domestic use in the hands of individual users with clear social and economic advantages: the widespread production would guarantee a more continuous and diffused production with less losses.
From a cultural point of view, becoming a small-scale energy producer would also lead to an awareness and responsibility which would permit the individual also to make other ecologic-economic choices (insulating buildings, choosing class A electrical products, reducing waste etc…)
From a working point of view a huge market of work could be developed, such as small and medium enterprises involved in the creation, proposal and installation of renewable energy plants.
People trained on specific competences for renewable energy choices help the European Community to invest in research into new technologies which reduce costs, generate clean and renewable energy and manage to satisfy the parameters of the Kyoto Protocol more rapidly.
Objectives of the project
-
To examine the concept of sustainable development and the new approach for energy production and consumption. - To examine the concept of renewable energy and democracy of energy production.
- To develop the necessary interest for renewable energy in teachers, trainers, pupils and politicians.
- To share different experiences about renewable energy also using internet (e-learning – blended learning) and scientific laboratory.
- Development of guidance and advice on VET with some material about renewable energy.
- To develop better conditions for the transition from school to working life for students who will become technicians in renewable energy.
- Reinforce or create closer links of VET with territory and technicians.
- Responding to the needs of the labour market, anticipation of skills needed in labour market in renewable energy plants.
- Improve the qualification of teachers and trainers regarding renewable energy.
